AUSTRALIA ACTION ALERT
100% Of Your Money Goes to Fighting Australian Fires
YDCCF will initially be collecting funds to support the New South Wales Rural Fire Service where we have connections to the angling community. But as the disaster continues to unfold and needs are identified, YDCCF will disburse funds to support those places and people that need it most.
HOW TO HELP
WHAT: The Yellow Dog Community and Conservation Foundation (YDCCF) has created a fund to initially support the New South Wales Rural Fire Service where the waters of the Blue and Snowy Mountains regularly guided. The sheer level of destruction is overwhelming as a landmass twice the size of Belgium burns uncontrollably with plumes of smoke 14 times the size of Japan and wider than Europe.
Since September wildfires have continued to ravage Australia burning more than 15 million acres, killing 28 people, and destroying more than 2,000 homes. Estimates of as many as 800 million animals could perish in New South Wales. For the entire country of Australia, estimates are as high as 1 billion animals that have already died. The large scale extermination of wildlife and destruction of habitat puts entire ecosystems at risk of collapse. For many endangered species already pushed to the brink of extinction from human activity, a natural disaster of this size could sadly mark the beginning of the end for them.
WHY: Fire crews have been working tirelessly around the clock to contain the blaze, but crews are exhausted and stretched thin - just in New South Wales alone, rural fire crews are fighting 130 different fires. With three months left of summer, fires could inflict immeasurable damage. Fire crews need resources and support to put an end to the incredibly tragic and catastrophic natural disaster.
WHEN: All funds raised will be distributed directly to the New South Wales Rural Fire Service. But as the disaster continues to unfold and needs are identified, YDCCF will disburse funds to support those places and people that need it most. But right now, the most important mission is to put the fires out. As we continue to learn more about the situation on the ground, we will be sure to keep everyone updated as to where YDCCF is disbursing your funds and further ways to help.
HOW (TO HELP): Everyone that cares about Australia, has visited or fished in Australia, or would someday like to to fish in Australia can DONATE TODAY! YDCCF is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, and all gifts are tax deductible.
