Your donation will NOT go to rebuilding lodges, but rather to rebuilding lives. And while there are a lot of relief efforts currently under way, we're focusing on what we can do to assist the needs of the "fly fishing family" on both Grand Bahama and Abaco. This fund will directly assist the fishing guides, lodge employees, staff members and the families that are linked to our fishing community.

HOW TO HELP

WHAT: The Yellow Dog Community and Conservation Foundation (YDCCF), AFFTA, Angling Trade and a diverse coalition of businesses from throughout the fly fishing industry have pooled efforts and created a fund to raise money for our Bahamian angling “family” – the guides, lodge employees and staff families on both Grand Bahama and Abaco that have been devastated by Hurricane Dorian.

WHY: We realize that there will be numerous, large-scale relief and aid efforts that will target the Bahamas in the weeks and months ahead, and that is a good thing. Our goal, however, is to help those that work in the angling industry – the guides, lodge employees and those that are directly linked to the fishing industry on both Abaco and Grand Bahama. Lodges can be rebuilt and insurance can pay out for infrastructure. For the individuals that are affected, however – those that have lost property, possessions and income – we want to make a direct difference.

WHEN: All funds raised through the Double Haul for Dorian Relief - Anglers for the Bahamas will be distributed directly to those that need help. We plan to deliver funds on both Grand Bahama and Abaco: placing resources directly into the hands of those that need it most by working with our network of lodges and local outfitters. This is the most direct way to ensure that these resources are delivered directly to the people that need the most help. 

WHO: Double Haul for Dorian - Anglers for the Bahamas is proud to partner with any business or entity in the fishing world to raise as much as possible and have the biggest impact. We look forward to partnering with others from throughout the world of fly fishing to spread the word and maximize donations.
